Parameswaran Nair. K.G

Born to K. Krishna Pillai and K. Thankamma in 1931 in Thrikkannapuram, Thiruvananthapuram, K.G. Parameswaran Nair had served kerala Kaumudi as a journalist for long 35 years-from 1963 to 1998. Before joining Kerala Kaumudi he had a short stint  in Kaumudi weekly.

He was the most important capital correspondent of Kerala Kaumudi all these years and so had the luck or ill luck to witness in close quarters all the political dramas of Kerala. All this helped him write a comprehensive book on the proceedings of Kerala legislative assembly titled-“ kerala niyamasabha-charithravum dharmavum”. His reports on the day to day proceedings and on the political turbulences were so impartial that most readers considered him as the most credible legislative correspondent.

Vijayaraghavan award, Pattom Thanu Pillai award, K.C.Sebastian award, swadeshabhimani award are some of the notable recognitions showered on parameswaran Nair. He has also received the special award of the kerala legislative Assembly for the longest serving legislative correspondent.

Several political scoops were reported by him, some of them causing tremors.  He is still is very active in journalism and related areas. It was in April 2012 that Kerala Press Academy honored him for his valuable contribution, in a function attended by Chief Minister Oommen chandy
